CAI Government and Professional Affairs Committee Presents Seminar to the Bucks County Planning Commission: On April 29, 2015, Jeffrey A. Wert, P.E., P.L.S., as part of the Government and Professional Affairs Committee of the C.A.I., presented an educational seminar entitled, “Common Interest Communities” to the Bucks County Planning Commission. The seminar, led by committee members, Carl Weiner, Esquire, Jane Wismer, CMCA AMS, and Jeffrey Wert, P.E., P.L.S. provided an overview of common interest communities, highlighting issues relevant to the Planning Commission. Mr. Weiner began the seminar with a discussion regarding the different types of common interest communities, how they are created and how they operate.He then discussed legal issues related to common interest communities, focusing on issues regarding transition and the drafting of governing documents.Ms. Wismer followed with a discussion regarding a property manager’s role once transition occurs and the developer turns over control of the Association.Mr. Wert then ended the seminar with a discussion regarding transition from an Engineer’s perspective and a discussion of relevant statutory requirements for the Planning Commission.The seminar also provided members of the Planning Commission with an open forum to ask questions and discuss issues related to common interest communities in Bucks County.
